More Details

Vine House carried out a £325,000 full external refurbishment to this substantial listed building in the centre of York.

The works were overseen by Stephen Buxton and Associates for the client, Property Alliance Group, based in Manchester.

The restoration works  included careful re-pointing to all existing stone and brickwork, metal and timber window repairs, re-roofing, decoration and lead work.

A particular challenge was the existing windows which were all single glazed and opened inwards.  Conservation meant the window could not be replaced and standard double glazing was not permitted.  In conjunction with the architect we sourced extra thin heritage double glazed units which would satisfy the needs for conservation but also help insulate the offices.

" Vine House Construction carried out extensive refurbishment and repair works to our property in George Hudson Street in York city centre. The building, which is Grade 2 listed, required repairs to the façade, windows and roof. The works were completed efficiently, in a professional manner and well managed throughout the process. The workmanship and quality of finish was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Vine House Construction to any future clients.  http://www.propertyalliancegroup.com/ "
